Women’s Self-Defense Class

November 2, 2024 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Hosted by the Ardmore Family YMCA, Sergeant Kevin Kropp and Sergeant Adam Eller will lead our group through a variety safety skills such as striking and grappling, situational fighting stances, recovering from falls, basic strikes with elbows, knees, and punches, defense against sharp objects and more.

Ages:  women 16+

Price:  $50 per person

About our instructors:

Adam Eller serves as a patrol sergeant for the Ardmore Police Department and is currently the defensive tactics instructor. He has also been part of the Ardmore Police Department SWAT Team.  Sgt. Eller educates cadets at the academy on how to effectively and judiciously execute arrests. He holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art that emphasizes technique and leverage, enabling smaller or weaker individuals to defend themselves successfully.

Kevin Kropp, a former detective and Hostage Negotiation Team Commander, currently serves as one of the patrol supervisors for the Ardmore Police Department. He is also a veteran of the armed forces, where he worked as a police officer. Sgt. Kropp holds a second-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Additionally, he is a certified personal fitness trainer specializing in bodybuilding, senior fitness, nutrition, and corrective fitness.
