YOUTH & TEENS

Teens in Training

Weight room workout for pre-teens/teens 10 - 14 years old.

April 4th - May 26th. Mondays and Thursdays only.

Your teen will work directly with a YMCA weight room trainer in this small group training class. They will gain strength and endurance all while learning proper techniques and weight room etiquette.

Registration required. Members only program. Discount teen memberships available for 12 - 17 year olds.
YMCA Swim Team
An excellent way to build confidence and strong swimmers. For children 5 to 18 years of age. Swimmers will be placed in workouts according to age, strength, and experience.

Tryouts are required for those who have never swam with the Ardmore Family YMCA swim team before. Summer swim tryout will be Thursday, April 14th and Thursday, April 28th from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM in the large pool.

If accepted onto the team, swimmer must have a family or single parent YMCA membership.

When auditioning, swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool, any stroke, unassisted.

Summer swim season will begin in May 16th and end with the State Swim Meet in August.
Afternoon Activities
AFTERNOON KIDS IS CURRENTLY ON HIATUS.

Kids Pickleball - Monday
The fastest-growing court game in America, pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with a solid paddle larger than ping-pong with rules similar to tennis. A fun game for kids and a perfect game for the entire family to play together.

Dodgeball Games - Tuesday
A favorite for all ages, dodgeball is a team game in which players must dodge or catch balls thrown by the opposing team. If hit by a ball, you're out. Simple game, fun to play.

Bootcamp - Wednesday
An indoor interval training program designed for teens looking to kick start their fitness goals.

Yoga - Thursday
Through yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises your child can guide themselves to a deeper connection with their own body.  They will increase strength, balance, and flexibility as the move poses.
Youth Fitness Program

For kids 10-14 years of age

Encouraging youth to be healthy and active is one of our main mission at the Ardmore Family YMCA. During our weight room fitness class participants will learn healthy lifestyle principles, fitness center etiquette, and safe lifting techniques.

Personal training can offer significant benefits to assist you in reaching your fitness goals. With personal training, the fitness program is designed specifically for you by one of our many certified trainers. With a trainer by your side, you will increase strength, flexibility, endurance, posture, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular health and fitness.
