About Us: Founded in 1945, the Ardmore Family YMCA first opened its doors from a small storefront on Broadway. Organized initially to assist the City of Ardmore with its little league program, the Ardmore Y has grown to much more. With over 6,500 members and a building over 50,000 square feet, the Ardmore Y is made up of people of all ages, from every walk of life, working side by side to improve the health and well-being of our community.
Our Mission: The Ardmore Family YMCA's mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families, and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child, and when a community comes together for the common good.
Our Cause: At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We are an influential association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our children, our health, and our neighbors. That is why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, can learn, grow, and thrive.
Nonprofit: As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Y provides crucial programs and services.
Our Focus Areas:
We are nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through the Y, thousands of youth in the Ardmore area are cultivating the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.
We are improving the nation's health and well-being. In communities across the country, the Y is a leading voice on health and well-being. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun, and shared interests. As a result, thousands of youth, adults, and families in Ardmore and the surrounding areas are receiving the support, guidance, and resources needed to achieve better health and well-being for their spirit, mind, and body.
Giving back and providing support to our neighbor. The Y has been listening and responding to our communities' most critical social needs for more than 160 years. The Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve by developing skills or emotional well-being through education and training, welcoming and connecting diverse demographic populations through community services, or building healthier communities through collaborations with community leaders. Through the Y, thousands of volunteers and donors, leaders and partners across Ardmore and the surrounding areas are empowering thousands of people in our community to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure.
As a nonprofit charitable organization, the Ardmore Family YMCA relies on the support of neighbors, like you, to make it possible for us to fulfill our mission in serving our community.
With an ever changing world, the Y is dedicated to adapting and building new programs to meet the evolving needs of our children, adults, and seniors in Ardmore and the surrounding areas. Your donation is vital in making it all possible.
